Remember Duels (2008)?

Duels was a browser RPG from 2007–2008 where you did not control the fight. You built a champion and wrote the plan it would follow. It then fought other players' saved champions, with neither of you online. What mattered was the build and the plan. The studio behind it was later acquired and the game shut down.

What Duelsmith keeps

The same core idea: you build, you plan, and the fight plays out on its own. You design a champion from four classes and three lineages, with every number on your gear shown on screen, and write a plan: rules for which skill to use, when, and against what. It fights saved copies of other players' champions, and you watch the replay.

All the numbers are visible. You can see every stat, threshold and probability before you fight. The engine is deterministic by seed, so two people opening the same replay link see the same fight.

PvP on your schedule. You attack when you want. When someone attacks you, your saved champion defends on its own and you get the replay. There is no queue.

What Duelsmith changes

Upgrading gear never destroys it. Up to +4 there is no risk. From +5 a failed attempt drops the item one level; the item itself is never lost.

A ladder, a story and two puzzle modes. An 84-champion PvE ladder in seven tiers, a season story with a boss, a daily duel fought with a fixed kit so only the plan differs, and a weekly Gauntlet whose rule changes.

A black market with no currency. Players trade equipment and gems directly: you offer what you have and say what kind of thing you want in return.

What money buys. Cosmetics, time-savers and Battle Points, the same currency you earn by playing. It never buys rank, season rewards, relics, cantos or titles. Those can only be earned.

Who made it

One person made it, because nothing filled the gap Duels left. Every release is listed at /releases and the roadmap is public. Duelsmith is not affiliated with the original Duels or its makers; it is a different game by different people.
